Analysits today are saying the debates were pretty much dead even, but McCain came out on top for his comfort advantage. The major topics, the economic crisis in the Iraqi war, were both highly contested throughout the 90 minute verbal clash. On the economy, McCain stated that the crisis is nearly over. "This is not the beginning of the end, this is the end of the beginning of the economic crisis," McCain put it. Obama replied that government still believes that what is "Goofd for Wall St. is good for Main St." He criticized McCain's earmark plans, a spending plan of 300 million dollars. In the meantime, McCain kept telling the voters that Obama has the "most liberal" voting record in the Senate.
Apart from the economy, the war was also brought up. Obama stated that the Bush admin. did not use the "military wisely in Iraq." While, on the flip side, McCain shocked Obama by saying that there needs to be freeze spending on everything but Veterns Affairs and Defense.
