Virginia is for Lovers....and Gamblers

In one of the largest lottery cases in the nation in quite sometime, a Washington and Lee professor is filing suite against our friends at the Virginia Lottery for the production of false advertising. The professor, Scott Hoover, states that the institution falsely advertised tickets which had no chance of giving a purchaser the big jackpot. According to local CBS affiliate WDBJ7, Hoover is asking for the reimbursement of "an estimated 26.5 million tickets" purchased over a period of 5 years.

In a hasty decision, the VA Loto asked a judge to dismiss the case on the grounds that Hoover was in no position to question the Lottery's decision. However, the Richmond Circut Court judge disregarded the dismissal inquiry

So why is this a big deal? Well, recently the VA Loto was in some hot soup for their print of "invalid" tickets which had so many people claiming a 777,777 dollar prize that the most anyone would get was about $17. The Lottery has tried their best over the past years to improve the quality of their scratchers so as more prizes could be distributed. The next issue would be where the money from the Hoover case has and will go to. The VA Loto's biggest Charity is education. With a 26 million dollar education donation over the past 5 years in question, some may wonder why this is a bad thing. Well, it's not really. The fact of the matter is that if you gamble, you gamble. Getting some Lucky Seven tickets at 7-11 doesn't mean you'll be the next Bill Gates. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning...twice.

While the case is not over, Hoover does have a valid argument. The tickets did say that a winner was guaranteed. But, fine print is an institution's best friend. VA Lotto is no Vegas, folks. There will be winners and losers. There are a few ways to actually win...not a large amount, but a fair amount...thru lottery tickets and scratchers. In the mean time, just support the cause and thank God you can gamble. Just...don't get addicted. Good luck.

Passing the baton to Mr. O

Obama today formally met with President Bush inside his new digs. As Shepard Smith put it, "The husbands are getting down to business" while Mrs. Obama and First Lady Bush set out to fung sae. COS Emanuel said that the transitional period is crucial to "get what the people want." A call for executive orders today hinted at Obama surplussing the newly bound Stem-Cell research policy and a heap of overthrowing of new drilling laws. Though, not official, many believe that Obama will do the former. Mr. 44 was in good spirits while talking to 43. Obama had never been to the White House, contrary to what South Park might tell you, according to an Obama spokesman.

Silly Liberals, Jokes are for Conservatives!

This election was aided greatly by new technology abroad. From CA to GA, millions of people professed their civic duty on the more than popular social networking group, Facebook. But, from CA to GA, hundreds have professed their pick of the presidency as well. While we all should give Obama a chance, that is if he makes it in, conservatives and leftist bashing alike need to stand up and fight for what is Right, no pun of course. The difference between the

 the Internet phenomenon, Facebook logo

Facebook bashing and cyberbulling is very controversial in some regions, but it is fairly clear from my point of view. The  debate is solely politically driven. However, if you are one to get on facebook and say that someone doesn't know anything or "I hate you" or even "Go to hell you fucking liberal," then, maybe, then you might be going to far.

The ones, select ones, who actually do their research before putting an apocalyptic video in the status bar deserve kudos. It is good to see that some people are passionate about something, even if it may be over and some think it's ridiculous to "bitch." I disagree with this "bitch" remark. Us conservatives have a deep passion in protecting what is ours. We are at a point in history where the Conservative Uprising is evident and inevitable. We are not dead, and by God, we will never call this man a president. America let us down by listening to his endless lies and believing in Hope and Change. America is not ready for him for a number of reasons. Furthermore, I seriously doubt many people realized what they have done. 56 million people had  a bad day on Tuesday, but they also became stronger.

Let us remember what the Bible tells us. This and all things are in our Father's hands. We have no say in what happened or what will happen. It all occurred for a reason. God is tempting those that are not strong. Things are going to change and probably not for the better. So, the day will come when us Rightists can say "I told you so." If we don't stick together, we'll lose our minds. So, let's stay sane for awhile. God Bless You and God Bless America.

Emanuel and the "Messiah"

Now  that the election is over, thank God, Obama must pick his cabinet officials. The most important is of course the chief of staff. Rahm Emanuel, Rep. from the political machine. Emanuel has now accepted the position. Emanuel is described by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R SC) as "tough but fair."

Obama will hold his first press conference tomorrow sometime. He will meet with President Bush on Monday

McCain edges out in Debate with Obama

Analysits today are saying the debates were pretty much dead even, but McCain came out on top for his comfort advantage. The major topics, the economic crisis in the Iraqi war, were both highly contested throughout the 90 minute verbal clash. On the economy, McCain stated that the crisis is nearly over. "This is not the beginning of the end, this is the end of the beginning of the economic crisis," McCain put it. Obama replied that government still believes that what is "Goofd for Wall St. is good for Main St." He criticized McCain's earmark plans, a spending plan of 300 million dollars. In the meantime, McCain kept telling the voters that Obama has the "most liberal" voting record in the Senate.

Apart from the economy, the war was also brought up. Obama stated that the Bush admin. did not use the "military wisely in Iraq." While, on the flip side, McCain shocked Obama by saying that there needs to be freeze spending on everything but Veterns Affairs and Defense.

McCain tell's Obama, "Bring it On"

It seems today that McCain is skipping the economic bailout summit wrap ups in DC today to travel to Ole Miss for tonight's debacle. McCain told Obama today to "Bring It On" in reference to tonight's debate at the college. The topic at hand: Foreign Policy. That topic, McCain is excellent in. We'll have complete coverage of the debates later tonight!

Political Chaos Erupts in Washington

On the heels of the economic crisis, Sen. John McCain suspended all actions of his campagin today citing a return to Washington to aid in the bailout plan for the American economy. In this landmark decision, a politician hasn't put a campaign on hold since the Reagan administration. There is much concern still, today, that the economic shortfall will lead to an overhaul of the economy. Pres. Bush said in this address to the Nation Wednesday night that the entire "country may feel the effects" of this disaster looming. He also hinted of a "long and painful recession." Bush and select task force members will meet today to discuss wheter or not a bailout is the right answer. Congressional leaders made note Wednesday they could not "trust" the federal reserve by handing them a free 700 billion dollars worth of tax payer money. Even though Bernake believes that is the best way to go, Congress has their doubts.

On the political front, the debate scheduled for tomorrow night may be cancelled after all. McCain is opting out of the disscussion, which will focus on foreign policy (something he is great at), and leaving a 90 table open for Obama. Obama says he thinks America should "move on." Strong words from a young Senator who has just regained a 3 point gallup poll lead vs. McCain.

Mix Up in Dem Camp

I got this in an email this morning:

There is some talk about a mix up in the veep seat in the Obama campaign. Reports have surfaced that Biden will resign as veep nominee on October 5, three days after the first debate between himself and Palin. Why? Well, rumor has it that Hillary, yes that pant suited woman thing, will take his spot to win back Obama's female vote. Biden is said to have went along with the idea and will be placed in the high cabinet in Obama is elected. He will cite an aneurysm as a "health problem." This has been reported on numerous blogs and websites.

So, Politrikle fans, whatcha think?
Is it real or fluff? We'll find out October 5 and we'll keep you posted in the meantime.

The Strategy Room with the punditry

On the day that a dorm room was raided because the student hacked into Sarah Palin's email, FoxNews unveiled the Strategy Room. Like their rivals CNN, Fox decided they needed a live streaming version of the infamous Situation Room (CNN) with Wolf Blitzer. I decided to check it out, being a big Fox News fan and all. I went for it.

While it takes less time to load then a Fox News video segment, the Strategy room has its blunders. While it's "new" and "live," it's also boring. Now that fox is going to take over your lap/desk top, you can't get away from the winged media. They even use the same font as the Situation Room.

The one on one "radio" show is no comparison to the brilliance of Shep and the B block. I wonder how long the Strategy Room will rule the Internet streaming waves. If it doesn't, will Fox News have a strategy to overcome the fault?

CNN doesn’t use sources?

IN a recent report, CNN thought that the picture below was a valid one. Take a look at the Fox news Report. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/10/cnn-reports-palin-bikini-photo-but-fails-to-tell-viewers-its-a-fake/

Yes, a hottie, but not our vp pick.
